Do you have affordable housing?

To find out, I will show you to figure it out in four easy steps.

1. If you get paid every two weeks, grab your last two pay stubs. If you get paid every week, grab your last four pay stubs.
2. Add up the gross amount of your pay for each period.
3. Take that number and multiply it by .30
4. Is the new number more or less than what you pay for rent or mortgage? If it is less than, you do not have affordable housing. If it is more, congratulations for having affordable housing.

Why is affordable housing important?

People without affordable housing are more likely to have to chose between rent vs. food, rent vs. medicine, rent vs utilities.  1 in 4 Duval County children suffer food insecurity.
